steampunk cospro by overlord-costume-art steampunk cospro by overlord-costume-art
cospro a new generation

Let me start by introducing a new name to the costume world, I call it 'Cospro' meaning people that take their costumes that one step further to a more professional level. I am sure there are thousands of us out there and alls it needs is a name and to be recognised as a extremely talented art form in its self. So I am going to start the ball rolling and hope with the people that do it on a higher level we can start a new movement that is already out there with name to identify it with. Cospro - you heard it here first. let's get behind it. I can see that this cospro title has either caused people to love it or hate it. It was not meant to come across as arrogant as some people have suggested, however I am just distinguishing people that take their costume a stage further. Also to state that the cosplay world is now moving into a new era, admittadly before now it was mainly deemed as a hobby that some people would say was for nerds, I don't like this term and it is certainly not the case here. Alls I am trying to do here is get people credit and the respect they deserve and the term 'cospro' is just a term to cover this. No more, no less.

I have creatored designer and co designed most of my costumes. I use certain talented individuals to bring my ideas to life, and sometimes craft them my self. Alot of the pieces on this costume are completely new to the steampunk world which i designed and co designed and wanted to bring to life, etc. Full mechanical steampunk leg, full mechanical arm with epaulette shoulder cannon, back pack and chest armour with shoulder cannon combined, these are all what we have designed and co designed. and i however like I stated I maticously designed and co designed this whole project and together me organic armor/ samual lee/ hemingway/ skinz-n-hydez./.archead have worked no designing and construcking this project together and still have more surprises in store and when the full suit has been designed and made it will be go through at least another 2 processes which really will be taking to a whole new level. So watch this space.

Hey, there's something I'd like to ask you: At University I'm gonna hold a presentation about Steampunk - may I use some of your photos for this? (they're amazing) Of course I'd make credits and so.

I will agree that the craftsmanship on the costume is amazing, even if the excess of gears and cogs is not to my taste; they seem superfluous.

But the "CosPro" thing? That just screams arrogance. No matter how many times you say it doesn't.

There are many cosplayers out there who are just as talented, if not more, who would be more than happy to call themselves a "cosplayer" and don't feel the need to one-up themselves by boasting about their professionalism. The costume will speak for itself, and the viewers of the costume will be the judge of that.

The term will "help people get the credit they deserve"? No. The term will help inflate people's egos. No more, no less.

surely haven't you got anything better to do with your time, surely? I am not patronising you here but surely you have something better to do with your time? If the messages were constructive critiscm instead of blatently rude (which anybody would take offense to including yourself) then they would be left on my site. The other thing is be careful what you are putting in your messages as there is a lot of very offensive and rude comments on there including one I think is racist. send messages like this to me again and you will be reported,so think twice in future. Seriously go and spend that negative energy elsewhere.

I suggest you find out what you are talking about before you actually comment on something that you know nothing about. the costume as we speak as 4 working mechanical parts and counting. As far as I know it is one of the most mechanically, functioning costumes that I know of at this time and is being added to as we speak. It is funny because somebody mailed me saying that it's always the people with no talent that are always the first people to put something down and I will definitely say that is true. Everybody with talent don't say stupid things before they know what they are talking about,so if you don't understand you don't have to visit my site,I haven't asked you to come here, so run along now, there's a good boy.

Cospro! I like it! I'll join the club. I put a lot of work into my suits of armor and I don't think its arrogant to recognize those who take it to a higher level. Good job steampunk Overlord! BTW, I think Ian is a steampunk genius and if you help him design this tuff, that puts you in the same category.

I am honored and proud to be part of the cospro movement.

Ironically, you and Ian have been a huge influence and inspiration for me. As well as others that Have a high level of craftsmanship and creativity into their works. Seeing work of this level has inspired me to strive for this level and to not settle for making simple leatherworks. Its a lot more work but its well worth it.

Keep up the good work with your awesome designs.
